Our comprehensive English course provides an integrated approach to the teaching of English/writing skills. Each lesson a different type of text is examined where an example is provided and analysed. Students are taught to respond to the text in detail, using higher-order comprehension skills. Following this, students’ vocabulary will be enriched. Attention to relevant grammar and punctuation skills will also be examined. The purpose, structure and features of each type of text will be explicitly taught in order to equip students with skills and strategies. This will enable students to produce their own pieces of writing which adhere to the various conventions of each genre.
